Quality of Life above the Creation of Wealth
This is a new Reality that rejects the current economic order.
The creation of wealth is not important. The Quality of Life is.
We have allowed Global Warming to become an existential threat.
It is time to respond with nothing less than a Global War economy.
40 years of global governance has benefited the few at the cost of the health and well being of the many.
This is unsustainable and unjustified.
This is the time to claim who we want to be as a global species and understand the balance needed for a sustainable future.
We are a small planet in a small galaxy
in a small part of space.
Keep our world in perspective.
We as a species have been on this earth for a very short period of geologic time.
For the first time in known human history, we are effectively changing our atmospheric processes on a global basis.
It will change our world significantly.
Climate change is occurring
We are altering the world without thought of the consequences.
For the sake of profits for the few, people's lives are being altered completely. This will only get worse.
This is be the most serious issue of this century and will dominate culture and economy.
There is no scientific debate about the greenhouse effect and the role of increased CO2 in the atmosphere. Denial focuses on the models to disparage the science and continues even when discredited.
Basics of the Greenhouse Effect
Financial capitalism is as failed a system as communism, more damaging in its slow demise.
The current distribution of wealth is unsustainable.
This level of inequality is unjustified and morally criminal
If you do not allow for someone's life to have significance, why should you expect that they will be a productive part of the community, of society.
A simple statement that calls for a complete restructure of priorities.
A responsive government acting for the sake of it’s citizens and commons.
If every child is fed, secure,
allowed, encouraged to be curious
We could change the world in a generation
What's needed is a community of cooperation, not competition.
Just pay for just work. A living wage for those that do the essential basic work.
Society is better when we work together.
Our Quantum World
On ultramicroscopic scales, the smooth spatial geometry of general relativity becomes quantum foam.
Planck's constant with the gravitational force yield a result called the Planck length.
Planck length is a millionth of a billionth of a billionth of a billionth of a centimeter.
This understanding will allow us a more realistic picture of our place in the order of things. Our significance lies in our being a part of it all. An attempt to dominate an environment will lead to unbalance and eventual failure.
Manifesto for a Sustainable Quality of Life
The Manifesto begins with 0 to 4, prioritizing the young, the future of our species. If we as a society take care of our children, all our children, we can create a world of quality for all. Everyone wants to be significant, allow them to be with good education and just pay for just work. It is a new mindset. Quality of life over the creation of wealth. We are not all the same but we can all contribute.
Financial capitalism is a failed a system as communism. More damaging in it's slow demise. Current governance is not for the people. The increasing level of inequality is not by chance. This must change if we want a sustained quality of life. It is necessary to change the economy and it is time to rethink everything. This is not naive and to suggest it can't be changed because thats the way things work is no longer acceptable.
Because the second part, the Greenhouse effect is a set of observable facts. Global warming is occurring and changing systems that affect our daily lives. Drought, flood, fire, extreme winds, the hundred year events every seven years. Life for all has changed and will continue to. Migration will be a major issue this century. The world of our children will be different. We must act as a world.
We are at a critical junction and must act collectively to make government responsive. The hope and understanding after the shared sacrifice of World War Two has given way again to an inequality with the few benefiting at a cost to the many. With the growth of libertarian self interest, authoritarian leadership and the dominance of wealth over environment, if we continue as we are going, there will be catastrophic failure this century.
Governments must represent their people. Local action with a global context. We are stronger together.
